There is a V-Twin with DeltaHawk diesels (I kid you not!). I don't think it's made the first flight yet, but it should be soon. I don't know of any plans for anti-ice though.

That's what I was referencing above, but no engines on it yet or at least not since the last time I was up there. He has a lot into it but it's a compelling machine once the engines start shipping next year. Should be a must-visit booth at Oshkosh next year.

The next video will generate 5 pages the first day or two after it drops.

Just dropped... I think he needs to add a few more coolant tanks, maybe another heater somewhere. Maybe paint the plane black to radiate some of that heat off.

I hope someday I have an opportunity to buy this guy a beer for the entertainment value he has provided.

So it was losing both altitude and airspeed when burning 12 gph, but it’s going to cruise at 300 knots on 15 gph? The gear must be creating a lot more drag than you would normally expect.

12 GPH and 105 knots. Only 20 knots slower than a 182.

I see the problem. All that yarn on the wings and canard is doubling the drag.

So, CG was his main problem before. I don't remember how far he moved it for this flight and what adding fuel is going to do. Heck, a RV10 is faster at a lower fuel flow with all that gear hanging down. We need to set a poll on where it trues out at with the gear up. I'm thinking maybe at RV10 speeds at a higher fuel flow. Of course, his temps only stabilized after he pulled it back to 55% power.

I've got $5 on 12-15 knot speed increase on the same fuel flow when the gear comes up.

In its current configuration, it'll top out around 130 knots in level flight at low altitude before he cooks the engine.

I need to draw a polar bear for Chris Close before I can answer that.

At best around 130 knots.
