Hello All. Been lurking on here for quite some time. I bought a Beechcraft Debonair back in 2010, which was destroyed on its trip from Florida here to North Texas.

I never got to step foot in the airplane. Has taken me this long to get the spouse and myself comfortable with the idea of looking for another one.

I first obtained my PPL in about 1979. Was going to be an Airline Pilot till Braniff went Bankrupt and I saw my father lose his job. At that point, I decided to get into an occupation where I could be my own boss. Yes I'm an Attorney.

Went through a few recessions and a different career path, finally went back to College in 1992 and finished law school in 1996. I am Board Certified in Commercial and Residential Real Estate Law.

Once my feet were back on the ground I wanted to get back into flying, so in 2010 bought the Debonair. I've learned so much from that experience and from this forum. Despite all that happened, my plan is to buy another Debonair or an F33.

The Pilot of my plane walked away without a scratch, and the "terrain" was very unforgiving. Here is a picture.

Don,

Welcome to BT. Glad you are coming back to the GA fold.
Go luck in the hunt. If you start a thread in the single forum area listing the mission, priorities and budget I am sure we have people who can help you. One suggestion would be to consider an airplane broker; we have a few on this forum and you can search for the recommendations.

Good luck,

Tim

Don,

good start posting the picture of the Deb hanging from the trees, but we're sure there's a story that goes along with that..

The propellers look intact..

Welcome.

That had to be one of the very first Debonairs. ??

Here's one for sale (belongs to a BT friend of mine): https://picasaweb.google.com/kdkxbo/Deb ... 1285005730

Welcome Don. Metal can be replaced...I hope you salvaged a chunk of that plane. From the photo, looks like minimal damage to prop, engine, or anything other than the wings...

1960 Model, Serial CD-174.

My point in showing the picture is to show just how strong that airplane is. Notice the wings still attached at the root!

Cabin fully intact!

Pilot didn't even go to the hospital to get checked out.

The story is under a prior post I made in the Crash Forum.

That is a hell of a picture and a testament to the Bonanza airframe. After seeing that picture, I think you should be very, very confident buying another airframe of the same design. Good luck in your search.

Edit: For spelling. Geez :hammer:
