If you want to live the Walter Mitty experience, buy a copy of Bill Lear junior's book which basically starts out with him buying a new P-38 from the Depot at Davis Monthan for next to nothing and then flying away with it at the ripe old age of 17. What a wonderful airplane. Not one for the faint of heart though. I will have to find the book tonight to tell the title. Having a CRS day.!!
