There is nothing cheap about that airplane. This one looks like a very nice airplane. Nicer than the others on the market. It is RVSM'd and has a fresh 12 year (big $$). Lots of time remaining on the engines. The fuel will kill you. Look at the idle and takeoff fuel flows. Buying the airplane will be the cheapest part of the equation. There is an amazing 727 (nicer than Trump's) which can be purchased for $700k right now. Nobody can afford to operate it. As is the case with these old Lears. I have said it on here before. Acquisition price of an aircraft is like the cover charge at a titty bar. It gets you in the door, but no drinks or lap dances. Having said all that, let me know if you buy it. It requires a 2 pilot crew and I would be happy to be your copilot for some romps off to the Bahamas.

Gotta love an airplane that makes over 100 Decibels from any angle. The only thing louder on takeoff was the Concorde. I've heard two F-16s at full military power (afterburners) take-off right next to me and then a LJ25....it was louder. That said performance on the 24 is breathtaking. Climb rate in excess of 10,000 ft/min for the first 10,000ft. Climbs nicely at mach .80. Very robust airframe and has a parachute, well a drag chute anyways. Its been a while but full fuel is about 6000 lbs(900 gal) and will go about 1,200 nautical if you get few delays and an unrestricted climb-out. I flew them air ambulance which guarantees the climb-outs and the direct routings. Best have your procedures down cold, you do everything fast in this airplane. Descent routinely began 13-14min gps time out of destination from FL430-450. Basically as the destination goes out of sight under the nose. Power back, pop the boards and you'll see 4-6000 ft/min down.
Takes two pilots and one should be pretty squared away or you're asking for big problems. Airplane is a handful on one engine (v1 cut is quite sporty) and inadvertent T/R deployment is not for the uninitiated. But have you ever heard of a plane with no drift-down? Thats right, it will hold altitude in the 40s on one, slows down to about .75. Expect to do a lot of hand flying as the older auto-pilots are wonky at best. GPSS? You wish. And then airframes like this one that have been through the South Florida, especially Sarasota mill I will bet would never make it out of a proper airframe and logbook inspection. I heard of one plane that was accidentally dropped off at Learjet KFLL (was supposed to go to National Jets right around the corner) and they found that the ailerons had been simply made by someone. Break out the checkbook!
Theodore is right. There is nothing cheap about this airplane.

"Acquisition price of an aircraft is like the cover charge at a titty bar. It gets you in the door, but no drinks or lap dances." That's funny, and true.

The next 5 minutes was other pilots saying how they wished they had that problem. But of course I'm cruising along in my TN Bo just enjoying the world not even thinking about mach. We had some pilots at the center for a tour this morning. One told me he flies the Citation X. We were all oohs and ahs about his speedy bird. But then I saw the chance to put things in perspective. I sat him with a controller who was about to work a T-38 off of Sheppard AFB in an afterburner climb. He got a kick out of it.

A friend has one he uses in his 135 business. He'll fly it until it turns into a pumpkin and then hope to get about $250K for it from somebody in Central or South America. For me, this is far worse than any "assault" weapon ban. There are few things that sound better than a Lear24 (the Starfighter comes to my mind here)
