I have a set of King Air front windshields. Just arrived, new from Textron (ordered 18 months ago) for sale as a pair only. $100k firm.

I ordered them as spares for my personal airplane. If I sell them, I’m accepting the risk of being AOG from the current shortage. Not sure what it’s worth to park a 2.5M B200 waiting on a windshield, but that’s the risk I’m willing to accept for that price.

When they make them again I bet they won’t be anywhere near that. Last I heard a pilot side heated Turbo Commander is about $60,000. A decent 50 year old used one will sell for $16,000. A pressurized Aerostar windshield which is acrylic, non heated and time life limited is about $36,000.

About 35 years ago I did a dumpster dive at an FBO for a nice looking MUII heated windshield. I figured it would be marketable to a freighter or for a ferry flight. Next time I was there a month or two later a mechanic that saw me retrieve it said “I hope you didn’t throw it away-it turned out that only the controller was bad”. I eventually sold it for $9,000.

They are still making them and they are still available from Textron. Just a long ass lead time.

Edit current price is 14k as Derek said above per my Textron account (and my discount isn't good by any means)

10K-15K depending on any discounts you can get if you have an account. You can repair or exchange one for 30-40K as long as the frame is good and in inner glass is ok.
