Isn't that the same fellow, who recovered another Fellow Aviator's wreckage from a sensitive wilderness area? I like this Guy :D

Rick is a really cool guy. I sold him the parts to convert his ex German OV10Bs in target tug configuration to A model combat versions. The Bs had single controls and an aft facing seat for the winch operator with a plexiglass aft tail cone.

He has one in flying condition and a complete un assembled one.

One of my favorites would be the OV-10, but he is stretching it quite a bit calling the Bronco a "tank killer".
I'd sure love to strap one on though!
They were leaving USMC service just as I was going through training.

I love that these guys do what they do. Does social media REALLY pay enough to support flying these kinds of machines?

Almost certainly not directly, but you can use it to boost other revenue streams (sponsorships, patreon, whatever his main business is…). A channel like that probably grosses something like $40k from YouTube. I don’t know the finances of the other socials, but I understand that they pay pittance compared to YouTube.

YouTube pays a pittance, but it depends on your content. If you have financial stuff the CPM is much higher than if you have relationship stuff etc. One you reach critical mass, it can actually start to pay pretty well, but we're talking millions of views here and regular episodes.

He must be making money from YT. I wonder what he spent on the UH-60 to
get it flying ?

No, but selling T shirts does. And these guys sell lots of t shirts. LOTS. Plus other swag, endorsement deals, etc...

I watched a Cleetus Mcfarland video this summer where he toured his warehouse. He had something like 6 or 8 people in a well ordered assembly line pulling T shirts from giant racks, boxing them, and shipping them. 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.

YouTube pays A LOT if your viewership is high. I know a guy that takes in close to $500k with less than 700,000 subscribers. I've been told the Demolition Ranch guy is taking in over $3million/year off his channels.
That being said, a few folks I know that have had direct dealings with the HeavyD guys were less than impressed.
