 It is normal on the 690 series. The earlier pre-690 series has clockwise rotation, but they added an extra  "gear" in the gearbox to get the rpm down from 2000 to 1591 to swing the bigger props.

Garrett 331 use slow turning props (1591 rpm at 100%) turn the other way. Critical engine also backwards but single engine no big deal in commanders.
 I can’t recall from seeing it on a previous listing if this is a 900-10 conversion or a 1000,  it looks nice from the outside.
 If I would have kept my commander I probably would maybe eventually do the 5 blade MT prop just for the noise and vibration even if a tad slower than 310 kts in cruise.  Cool Look.

Every once in a while I stumble on one that's within my means and start drooling.  I discuss it with my neighbor which knows Commanders as well as anyone and he talks me out of it. I did build my hangar home large enough to hold one though!
