The XP-82 Twin Mustang is for sale at $12,000,000. https://www.platinumfighters.com/xp-82With the most expensive warbirds seeming to go for about $3M, how much chance is there that it sells at this price? I know it's a one of a kind, but still...

It seems that this plane in particular sort of has matched pair formation built in... you should go for it :-) Nah - that other guy is always wanting to be PIC. He needs his own plane!

For all you big talkers... I need to move a Mustang for friend who passed away. Give me a call! I'll even check you out, if you've mastered the T-6. (that's a pretty safe offer, because I've been flying a T-6 30 years and I haven't mastered it yet.)

Seems like if it did, there'd be no ceiling for prices on pristine WWII aircraft, yet they top out around $3M. insurability affects aircraft values greatly, easier to insure an exotic for $3m over retail than it is an airplane ask those policyholders what the restrictions are on usage or display/location of their over-insured cars, usually requires a larger portfolio of insured items which is why these are usually part of collections
