Last time I asked for advise on this forum, I was told to buy BOTH the G650 and the Falcon 8x. That was bad advice, and the bank has taken them back. I only have the value of the baby mink skin seat covers that I added (about $30,000 or so).
Now I want something low and slow and wind in my face. My mission is not "XXX people XXX miles" but just a sense of fun. Happy joyful fun. Something like a Kitfox without doors or RV-12 with the canopy off. What should I get?
I need something that doesn't get old after the initial rush .. my accountant says I should plan to keep this plane long term. Should I be thinking aerobatic or amphibious instead? What's the most fun? Do I really want the wind in my face, or does that get old after a while?
It would be nice if I could also travel a little bit. Just a few hundred miles, every once in a while. I don't need to fly to Davos.
Can I fly a KitFox with the doors of, or an RV-12 with the canopy open?
Someone make a clever suggestion!

You want a T6. Fly with the canopy open, good for 300 mi x-country, and you will be entertained each and every landing.

Someone make a clever suggestion! I wanted something Low and Slow for my Granddaughter to learn to fly in, I had my mind on a J3 almost bought a Swift (I really like Swifts) but ended up buying a Clip Wing Cub. I forgot how much fun Cubs were to fly.

Someone make a clever suggestion!  Randy, I'm thinking about buying a Brand New A36 Bonanza, I think I can Pull it off  But about 1 week after the Second Payment is Due, The Bank will be Looking for it

DH82, Tiger Moth. Low and slow, aerobatics, wind in your face if you want, docile and easy to fly.

So far, the only airplane mentioned that you could buy for your $30,000 is a Pietenpol.
You could get a Model IV Kitfox for that and fly it with the doors open (I think). Your best wind-in-your-face bet in this price range may well be homebuilt: Kitfox, Avid, Skybolt (SKYBOLT!). . . .even Quicksilver and other funny-looking ones.
The certificated options aren’t as windy: Cessna 120/140, Luscombe, Taylorcraft, Aeronca Chief ..... maybe something funky like, well, a Funk!
