Intriguing for sure! What do you all think? What’s it worth? Is it insurable? And at what cost? Could you get it repaired if needed?

I've always loved that plane and wondered what could have been. My guess is that it would be treated like any other experimental (depending on what class it was put it), and would be no more difficult to insure than a Harpoon or one of the other low count proof of concept planes.
It would be fun no doubt!!

It's worth what that PT6 is worth.

I'd say you are a little low on that one.

OK.... let's look at it another way.

What's that 250 hour -67 PT6 worth?

 who knows. It’s probably about a million new and now it’s out of warranty and been sitting up for five years or so. If I had to guess, id say $600-$650K.

Does this mean One Aviation is done for?

I think that's a pretty fair statement. You should see what's going on in the Eclipse Forum. People are waiting months for batteries, outflow valves, probes, etc. Suppliers not getting paid, lots of layoffs, I'd say they are done.

You can get a low hour Mustang with G1000 in the low $1MM's.

Didn't the Kestrel have the TPE331? That would have been very competitive.

So, are you saying that someone would have to be an idiot for ever spending more than that for a single engine turbine?

ONE announced they were laying off the rest of their production staff recently. And in the same article Klapmeier said they weren't financed the way they needed to be to produce the Canada. If I remember correctly the article did say that they were continuing to upgrade 500 series airframes. You could interpret this sale, and Klapmeier's comments to mean they need cash, and are raising it anyway they can. An auction means they need whatever they can get, and quickly. Not a good sign. Are they done? I hope not as the 700 would be a great little airplane.
