I wouldn’t.
Just in the fear I would wind up wanting one too badly :)

As a point of interest, how many MU2's have crashed over all time? Meaning of the total fleet count, how many have crashed relative to the fleet size?

I reviewed the stats that Mike C posted and given the fleet hours for each type, it seems as though the stats are tough to understand. One item to note is that the highest number of fatalities occurred under personal flying, which is what we all do.

Maybe it's age, but I am now more hesitant to climb into an unknown aircraft with an unknown pilot, even if they are 'known' on a board. The pilot being the deciding factor.

Yep, I try not to ride in things I cant afford.

With a known airplane/pilot, in a heartbeat. Assuming it wasnt a back seat being offered.

In the back? Sure if its going somewhere I wanted to be.

I would in a heartbeat. Think they're cool as hell. And even good looking.

One of the worst insurance claims I’ve ever handled was an icing accident in an MU2. I’d still go.

Experienced and conservative pilot, well maintained aircraft, and good conditions - yes I would.

I can’t vote “no conditions” because I’ve upped my personal minimums from the days I’d climb into any plane... I wouldn’t get back into some of the planes I student piloted during my primary training (dubiously maintained ancient aircraft operated by nearly bankrupt British flying schools).

I am, in fact, curious to see how different the Mits is from the Commander.

I'm in. I've flown one a couple times. Good product. Not for sissies. Not for cowboys.

It would depend on the weather.
I would not go with anybody or any GA planes in a heavy icing condition flight.
Nothing about the MU2, same would apply to KingAir/Cheyenne and so on.
When it comes to heavy icing, GA is not the same as a 737 or other capable weather aircrafts.
The bad rap that those planes get is the fact that some pilots push the envelope too far.
The same with a Cirrus, FIKI... To me, no such thing. Be careful of nature... She has big teeth.
