Hello,
My name is Bill Coyle. Was, until recently, one of those people who insisted that they would never pursue a pilot's license or participate in General Aviation.
A friend got me to look at it over the Christmas/New Year holiday. Work reasons.... I live in one state and work in three others. Travellng via car or some combination of car & commercial air was getting to be a drag. Shortest commute around 3 hrs in car. Two others are 8hrs by either car or commercial air & car.
Took a few test rides in Cessna/Beech products & Cirrus. The guys selling the "travel crack" made a convert out of me. Our company subsequently purchased a Baron G58. Am now using that plane to get to our different locations, taking lessons en route & augmenting them with weekend work. While it will certainly take longer to earn my PPL and ME in a Baron, I figured that for our mission this was the right plane. Also would rather learn in the plane that I will fly, even if it takes longer to develop the proper proficiency.
Spent a lot of time reading on this & other forums before making the decision. Thanks to folks who have posted a lot of helpful information.

Jumping to a Baron is awesome! Congrats! Post pics!
I'm based out of 6B6 -- which field do you call home?
Doc Plane spends a lot of time at KBTV. Gent who is training me, flying with me & looking after the plane is based out of there.
