I can land on just about any dock or shore or beach. I carry almost 700lbs. and go 300 miles at 130 mph. and 4 people. I don't need runways, tundra tires, floats. The future is hear already folks Future is her now? I was promised the "Jetson's" when I was a kid so really? Can you just imagine the skies filled with people who cannot even pay attention while driving to work in the morning, whether they are putting on their makeup every time the traffic slow's down or are trying to read the paper even when the traffic doesn't slow down What on earth would the do if it started raining?? Seriously, the helicopter is the best idea for commuting, there' simply no way a plane can get nearly as close to a destination as a chopper can but there are only so many roof tops. I think there's a market for the ICON and the market is speaking as they "have" what 1500-2000 deposits? That't telling us or someone something.

Icon's business model is to combine the personal watercraft culture with the light sport culture. What could go wrong with that? Now give the PWC crowd helicopters and let the fun begin... Mike C.

The Icon A5, if properly equipped for night flight, can be flown at night by a properly rated pilot. Sport Pilots cannot fly at night, but Private (or higher rated) pilots certainly can.

Sport Pilots cannot fly at night, but Private (or higher rated) pilots certainly can. I think two things disqualify the Icon A5 from night flight: The Rotax engine limitations for the uncertified 912 iS state day VFR only. The A5 is not equipped with the lighting required by the FARs for night flight. Both of the above apply regardless of pilot qualifications. Mike C.

Icon is gonna make it. Gonna be us rednecks all over the US, buzzing boats and dodging telephone polls.
What's the deal with the hating on Vern Raburn? Can't be any worst than the Jet Ski's that are out there now.

Mike's like me and my Mitts. He's a little overzealous of his airplane and me I'n a little overzealous with my 94 Montero. Got 200,000 miles and is still the most reliable gasoline powered vehicle in my fleet.
Damn Jet Ski's are everywhere. Imagine if they were airplanes........may just be what we need.

However IFR it's not approved for. Steve, that's good to know. if they get up to your number I'm getting one for sure. There are at least another 4 guys at our field that will do the same. Around our parts they are an awesome airplane to have.

And I own two of the pesky, buzzing varmits. Rode them home from buying them and not since.
