I would be very interested in adding a chute to an A36 at some point in the future. I suspect the system needed for the Bonanza would be similar to the Cirrus Vision Jet system. I haven't seen a gross weight on the Vision Jet, but the chute is published at 89 ft in diameter vs 55 ft for the SR22. If the jet CAPS system would work for the A36, perhaps that's how BRS could get the system into the Bonanza. That assumes for a second that Cirrus cannot/would not keep BRS from using the larger system in another aircraft.

I would expect that the system would need to support a 4024 lb gross weight. Useful load on a G36 is too low to add the BRS without the gross weight increase.

There are 10 year repacks of the chute and rocket costing about a dozen AMU's and the six year cutter replacements adds another Grover to the yearly cost that won't ever go away....in addition to the initial cover charge. For the SR20's (at least) the CAPS is a continued airworthiness limitation...no way around it.

Very rarely is an airplane unsafe. The knuckleheads in them, on the other hand....
