Tell that to the guys selling all the airplanes. Cirrus delivered 3 new 2013's to PDK yesterday.

There are those who recognize the superior attraction to buyers that Cirrus has. There are those that say, "Nothing flies like a Bonanza". There are those who love the avionics and others who say that is what makes Cirrus pilots less competent. There are always the shots at the parachute, as though it's something bad or for wimp pilots.
I think this should just be a celebration of all that Cirrus has done well for all of us (i.e., General Aviation), and we should all hope that they continue to be successful.
Now, if Beech can get their act together, they should try to figure out how to compete. So far, they've done a dismal job. Arlen the wise man

Anger is good for a quick shot of adrenaline to the market. It has no follow-through. Cirrus is capitalizing on that, but I don't think they are foolish enough to believe it will sustain actual growth.

Isn't Diamond outselling them all?
Did you guys see that Twin Turbine on Avweb yesterday, two pilots on board, but the plane flown from the ground? You know a computer could be easily programmed to fly better than most pilots. It's coming. Soon. Cirrus and Diamond are both working on it. Then GA will makes sense for alot more people. This is why I'm optimistic. And the sky is big enough for all of it.

I can't remember the last time I saw a Diamond on the ramp or in the air. I see many Cirri every day. Diamond doesn't have a 180 knot airplane to sell.

Cirrus as a XC business plane??? Too slow, too small. I know in my business I need speed and some space. I wouldn't want to take 10hrs. flying coast to coast. I can do that on the airlines in more comfort than in a Cirrus. I think the Cirrus is geared at the entry level personal pilot...parachute, fixed gear, glass ...Cirrus has made flying a whole lot safer and simpler. No doubt they are leap years ahead of Beech in innovation. Beech hasn't innovated anything in decades. That said I bought my little Baron for short commutes from San Diego - LA and enjoyment. The last thing I wanted was to push buttons. So I looked at the best "hand flying" airplanes. If I'm just pushing buttons I'd rather be in the back of the airplane napping or being productive. Their next step should be a roomy 6-place, complex, pressurized, turbine or diesel 300kts+.

How can you say it's NOT a business airplane when it's 99% businesses buying them?
