Hi All,

I'm a Cessna driver thinking about moving into a Beech.

I'm here to get an education and learn all I can about the iconic Beechcraft.

Craig, welcome to BT.

If you'd put your location in your profile, there's a good chance that someone will offer you a ride in a real airplane. ;)

I haven't been on this site for too long, but I can offer one bit of advice: If you wish to protect your wallet, delete your account and never log back on here. These guys are more skilled than any criminal I have ever heard of helping separate you from your money. It starts slowly with an "oh, hey, welcome, Beechcrafts are awesome, look at what my Beech will do, look how neat it looks," followed by a "oh, hey, look at all these Beechcrafts for sale, aren't they nice? Oh, hey, look at this super nice Beech, it's a steal.", followed by "Oh, hey, I see you bought a Beech, it's beautiful, look at all this neat stuff you can add to it [link], it looks really good installed in my Beech [pic]." All of a sudden, your hangar is full and your wallet/bank account is empty. So, just run, run far, far away.

Not so loud Brad, the newbies might catch on to the trap. :duck:

Here's my 2 cents.

I owned a 1979 Cessna TR182 for about fourteen years. Put better than 2500 hrs. on it. Crossed the continent about eight times. It had pretty crappy avionics but the weight and balance was very forgiving. You needed a raincoat when you flew in the rain, it leaked so bad. But it was a great first airplane.

In all the years, all the hours I owned this machine, no one ever walked over and said, "nice airplane!"

I now own a 1987 F33A. Every time I go somewhere, someone walks over and tells me how beautiful it is.

It's a Bonanza thing.

To quote Morrie Dollahan, who passed away some time ago: "Just get yerself a Bonanza. That's what yer gonna end up with, anyway."

He was right, and I did, and I never regretted my decision.

Hi Craig,
Welcome!
I have owned my Bo since September 21st at 10:30, approximately.
GO FLY ONE!
They are unbelievable machines and as different as day and night from the high wings you have been flying.
Where is home for you?

Welcome to BeechTalk!

I transitioned into the F33 from our trusty 172K. We have owned both planes since 2006 and are very happy with that arrangement.

Craig,

I own 2 Cessnas and an older Bonanza I "restored"....(read $$$).

Cant say Ive ever enjoyed anything more. My problem is the Cessnas havent been flown since I bought the Bo. I'm embarrassed to drive by 'em on the ramp. Not even sure they re still there! I got it BAD. :ahhh:

As the man said, run for your life. Once you go there, your sole is no longer the same. Expect some restless nights wondering how you're going to afford a Bonanza.

They re just a GREAT bird in a class their own.

Dave
