They say they are going ahead with their jet development. In this month's AOPA Pilot, their full-page ad says: We are re-inventing the Jet Age.
The Cirrus Vision SF50 personal jet is a GO. With a major new commitment in place, Cirrus is set to do it again.
This time re-inventing the Jet Age with the first single engine personal jet. The countdown clock starts today.Cirrus claims it will operate up to FL280, stall in the mid 60's, and (max) cruise at 300 kts. It had its first flight in July 2008. In April 2012, Dale Klapmeier said, "We see the finish line, and we have the means and the capability to get there." I don't see any pricing information on their web site http://cirrusdesign.com/vision/Does anyone know what they're selling these for now? Attachment: vision_02_B.jpg

Arlen, Whatever the price, we feel that you'd look good in one, so we've voted that you will buy one and give the pirep. Let us know.

I don't know what's happened with that money or those positions since then. Does Jason own a position?

It's nice to see a V-tail in production again. I wonder if that now that they are owned by a Chinese company, they think there will be a big demand for this plane in China. Any sales in the US would just be frosting on the cake.

Is the full fuel useful load a pilot and a change of underwear? That is the one thing I don't get about these VLJs.

Matt, I think it all boils down to compromises and choices. The operator has the choice of filling the tanks and going long range with a light load or going with a heavy load and going a shorter range. I think this is better than the manufacturer artificially limiting the fuel capacity simply to show a good "full fuel useful load." Attached is a "Payload Versus Range" chart for the Cirrus Vision SJ50. It appears that one can choose to go 300 knots for 500 miles with 1200 pounds of payload or go 300 knots for 1150 miles with 200 pounds of payload. And of course one can slow down and go farther at both weights. -Neal

My gf who doesn't care much for airplanes, saw it when it was at Oshkosh and fell in love with it. She really liked the lines. Go figure, loves an airplane that is not in my budget! It is a nice plane though.
