My name's Doug and my baby is a 1966 Beech Musketeer which I bought in 1996 and is now hangared at CYOS Owen Sound, Ontario Canada. I work in Toronto as a senior research analyst for a bank. Have my private pilot and glider pilot licence and so far have been flying day VFR with 300 hours to date. Last major trip was to Sun'n'Fun in FLA in April '09 and that was a blast. Most flying done on weekends, weather permitting. My wife enjoys regional flying trips and weekend getaways. I'd like to get my night rating and instrument rating and buy a used Debonair. I'm very impressed with Beechcraft quality and the A23 is as solid as a rock but not very fast! Need to find out more about the costs of owning and maintaining a higher performance aircraft with retractable gear, CS prop, autopilot, etc. So far, only considering Beechcraft!

I fly a 1957 H35 that I have owned since 2006. I got my private in 1974, and flew in rentals as I could while rearing the family until purchasing the Bonanza.
When I bought 35HV, I had little knowledge of what to look for when buying an airplane. I thought I really found a bargain. The good things that came with the plane were 2100 hours on the airframe, no gear ups, no corrosion and good paint.
The plane is hangered at Brackett Field, La Verne CA (KPOC). I am still learning the IO 520 that was installed last year, with GAMI’s, additional power and CG changes. The O-470-G that she started with had carbureted “automatic” mixture control and was a different beast. The attempt to convert to fuel injection was a learning experience, resulting in a good supply of excess parts and pieces.
Today, I look at the available add ons for her and would like to continue the process of building the equipment list, but I think I am now into the just fly mode.

I found Beech Talk after reading ABS Hanger Flying and finding some reference to BT.

I would add a photo of Hotel Victor but I am challenged when working with keyboards and mice

Something about Alejandro's post reminds me of the "Food Fight" scream in Animal House. Grab a donut and be ready in case the Piper guys come over. Then again they did say that Pipers make pilots perform better than Beechcrafts do.

Hello All,

A frustrated PP with 260 hours since 1993 and inactive for the last several years, I'm happy to announce that I've scratched my way back into the ranks of active pilots via a great new organization called The Aircraft Partnership Association (TheAPA.com). I joined and posted my information and immediately came across what has turned out to be a perfect airplane and situation for me. I'm now the proud 1/4 share owner of N6047F, a 1965 C33 Debonair. 150kts and 11gph and splitting fixed cost 4 ways, she's going to be the ticket for me with kids college expenses looming in the near future. She has been lovingly restored over the last several years and is now positioned for some panel upgrades in the coming months.

The original 3 partners decided to add a 4th to help defray upgrade costs and also because they haven't been flying her that much over the last few years with 2nd planes and retirement interest consuming their time. The plane comes complete with a primo hanger location at Georgetown, TX (KGTU), a CFII, two experienced plane builders and a retired AF pilot.

Unfortunately, my recent work schedule, a short hospital stay and now a broken heel (installing new lighting in our hanger) have kept me on the ground since I pulled the trigger. I acquired my IR a few years ago and now can't wait to get my HP and Complex endorsements and then fly off my insurance requirement so I can start chasing you guys around.

I'll be using the plane to see my parents more frequently in Arkansas, family and friends around the SE and SC US. I'm also in a great situation to be able to use the plane in my business which manufactures and installs energy efficient lighting systems for large industrial, commercial and institutional facilities.....even hangers...across the US!

BT, what a great learning platform for someone new to the Beechcraft pilot's hanger.
