Don, Welcome aboard from a fellow airline retiree.... got our early from United about 4 years ago. However, I miss the flying....just don't miss the BS and TSA. I've actually though about doing more flying commercially, but really don't want an obligation or work more tha 5 days a month (kinda like the good old days<g>). Great plane, I'm sure you're getting a lot of good trips with it. If you ever wander toward St. Pete, look me up.

Larry , I'm like you ...every time I think about it I stop and remember what being on call is like and not having a schedule of your own...we had the best of what airline flying was like and it'll never get any better....If you're not the Captain and the owner you go when "they " say to...

Don Don, I guess I was fairly fortunate. After a few miserable years on reserve, I stayed senior enough to determine my own schedule and worked quite well, and never flew another holiday. In fact I had a few great years as a senior 747 copilot where I got my choice and had a ton of time off... life was good, then. Even my last years as a 757/767 capt I had a LOT of good schedules, with Europe or domestic without the all nighters. Commuted from FL for the last ~5 years without a hitch. Now, being Capt of the Baron is better, the only one I have to listen to is the SWMBO copilot...... but she's a great sport, and shares my enthusiasm with the plane.

Jeez, guess I should have searched for this early I'm just in the process of getting my Canadian ppl which I started in May, and am currently at 22.5 hrs in a 172 which is halfway to the minimum 45. I'm in grade 12 right now and after highschool I plan on becoming a helicopter mechanic here in Canada and then eventually a heli-pilot aswell. Haven't had to much contact with a beech but am hoping to sooner or later. Cheers, David

Hey, Ed Bacon got me to this forum after asking him about an audio patch cable I needed to record comms. A little about me, I'm 17 (so I wont be owning a plane anytime soon ), I only just got my license on Sunday, I first flew solo at 16 with 12.3 hours and been flying since I was 15 . I love to take video/pictures while I'm flying hence needing the patch cable. Here are two of my favorite pics I've taken. http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/4853/dsc00600zg9.jpghttp://img156.imageshack.us/img156/2949/dsc00608ne2.jpgAlso, it's my birthday today Oh and I've been flying the Jabiru 120 LSA
