I received an email from Cirrus this morning, promising a huge, impending announcement that would "change everything", coming up next week. Anyone care to speculate what it might be all about? Deltahawk diesel? The Jet? A thousand-plane order from the new owners Back (far) East?

Interesting little video hyping the announcement on April 18 on their web site:

The jet would change some things, the diesel would change a lot more. But I'm betting it's new color combinations. ;)

My guess: A bag of hot marketing air.

I have found their announcements to be frequently overblown, typically it's just a new Garmin feature.

Florian,
I agree that's how it usually has been....but, in the little video, the hype includes:

"important announcement"
"will reveal the next phase in its vision of the future"
"next leap forward"

This has to be more than just another Garmin suite announcement...... maybe?

Whatever it is, if it burns 100LL, it's overhyped.

A 285 HP FADEC diesel that burned 8 GPH might come close to justifying the hype. Personally, I love the smell of Jet A in the morning.

The way he stressed the word "vision" in that video makes me think it's some progress on the jet.

That said, if it is jet-related I'm a little surprised they showed the jet in the video. Of course if they didn't show the jet, then we would know it was jet-related. :ahhh:

The cowling mod from LoPresti is a Fast one.. hope it's the DeltaHawk engine coming out.

But it could be retractable gear..

Company: Looking
Location: Outside Boston, or some hotel somewhere
Aircraft: None
I think more likely the money behind Cirrus bought another company and is merging the two of them. e.g. Epic, Kestrel, Mooney, HBC ( :tape: )....
