Initially priced at $1.39 million rising to $1.72 million in 2009 dollars depending upon when a deposit/order is placed. http://www.aero-news.net/Assuming these prices stick, has Cirrus brought the airplane to market cheaply enough to compete with the more capable Cessna Mustang? Your thoughts?

You must be insane to put a deposit down on that Cirrus jet. It's never gonna be there. They will use that money to pay the Cirrus factory, not the development of the Jet.
That price is set to let people jump in, not to make a delivery. I am going to put that down as a vote in the NO column.

I don’t think it necessarily would be impossible to sell the SE jet even if the price increased somewhat. Lots of pilots want one engine due to cost of operation, fuel flow (increased range & useful load). Just look at the TBM 850 and the PC12.

Hell no. But a PC12 is a lot more money so it's not a fair comparison.

$1.3 million for a Cirrus Jet that'll do 300TAS vs. $1.2 for Baron. I'll take the Cirrus Jet.
But, we'll see if they get to market. There's a lot between here and there.
I say there's a huge market for a SE jet.
Why would a Cirrus Jet cost so much less to buy than a TBM?
