Thanks Mike J As a pilot with some time in a 1952 C35, if you are looking at a BE35, I would suggest something in the lines of a J35 or newer or find an older Bo with the adjustable seat STC that has been installed. I am 6'-2" and barely fit in the C35 but the newer model J35 works great. John

Skippers, Musketeers, Sundowners and Sierra are all very well built, but they all are more expensive to operate and worse performers than their Piper counterparts. However, if you stumble onto a nice one nearby that tickles your fancy, don't ignore it.
Good luck, whatever you do. I rise to the point of order!! Musketeers DO NOT cost more to operate than a Piper Archer. Have you priced Piper parts lately? I really enjoyed flying the Archer & it is a nice plane. However my Super III Musketeer will carry more load, be more comfortable, & fly as fast or faster on the same fuel burn. Both are great aircraft, but dont listen to "Old Wives Tales" about the Baby Beeches. Shannon
Sorry, no. An Archer II/III with the later design wheel pants will fly outperform the Super III, with a smaller engine and fixed pitch prop. Even a Sierra won't do much better.. The "Beechcraft Cherokee" is larger, heavier, and more comfortable, but was made in much smaller numbers and the size and weight has its price.
My old '79 Warrior II would true out at 75% power at something like 125kts at 12gph, the book numbers.
The Warrior/Archer line is still being made. So is the Bonanza. The magic of the market.
