Greetings all,

Just signed up to learn more about Bonanza's. I haven't flown one for around 15 years  but hoping to get back in the saddle some time soon.

No one warned me that having kids would cause such a comprehensive drop in time available to commit aviation.

Simon

Simon,
Welcome to BeechTalk.

Yeah, kids are wonderful blessings much of the time....but they can occasionally interfere with certain aspects of life.

Best wishes..

Simon, welcome aboard. Looking forward to a month long visit to your country next year. I know a month will not be long enough to see and experience your country, but its a start.

Hi Bill

What part of Oz are you coming to. We might be able to organize a taste of GA in Australian if you have time.

Regards

David

Hi Leldon

Nice thought, but the last time I was downunder the stampede to inhibit terrorists resulted in the in ability to obtain an Ozzie license to fly on your own. Filed paperwork months in advance. Checked on receipt of it periodically, all's well. Get there and find they had no record of my request and I had to refile everything along with another charge. One to two weeks for issuance at most the lady said. A month later still no license. Three months later, and back in the states I am advised my application has been approved. On a good note I told them they were three months late, asked for a refund, and got it! Good on 'em. I doubt I would have gotten my money back if I had been applying for a US license.

The lack of a license did of course put a crimp in my downunder flying. Yeah, that's right, sure it did.......

I'm also new to Beech . I bought a Deb two days ago she's not quite as old as me but her serial number goes back some (cd54). I'm hanging on to my Cessna until I get some mods done to the Deb and then it's on to better faster things. I'm putting in a speed slope wind shield and 530w with upgraded everything including new panel. wish I could afford the 750 but oh well. I've been watching this plane for two years now and was finally able to swing the money, yaay! Sorry I won't be flying in Oz though, I lived in Mooloolaba for the entire 70's and miss down under. Tobe
