Hey guys,

We purchased a 2004 PC12/45, N152PC. Went to Simcom a couple weeks ago for the initial. Our first big trip is on the 18th to Orlando then the schedule is pretty packed from then on. We did get to fly it back from Scottsdale at FL270 in about 2.5 hours.

I have a ton of pictures that Ive been meaning to post and I will try to do it this morning.

We are pretty excited to get it going for normal operations. Our first actual trip is scheduled for tomorrow, but its just a few short flights.

We flew out to Atlanta with a crazy guy named Don Peterson, some of you might know him. Anyways we flew in a 2010 NG to Atlanta and looked over it pretty good. We decided to buy it about 2 weeks later and had them bring it to OKC for the annual/pre buy inspection. ET Mechanical did the inspection at PWA, did a great job at that. On the trip over we got a CHIP light and had to divert to RVS. At this point we were pretty concerned, the guys at Christianson Jet Center at Riverside dove into the engine and found a small piece of metal in the reduction gear box. Our plan was then to get it to PWA and let our mechanic look into it even more. We got Dallas Airmotive up to OKC to do the engine inspection/boroscope and they gave it a clean bill of health. It seems the problem was that about 2 or 3 weeks before we came along, an inspection was required on some of the bolts in the reduction gear box, and the inspection just happend to be done by Dallas Airmotive. The engine was removed and sent to Dallas Airmotive and the inspection was completed and the engine was sent back to Epps in Atlanta and hung back on the aircraft 3 days before we came out to Atlanta for our initial viewing. To make a long story short, the engine didnt get cleaned out well enough when it was split, nothing making metal in the engine. Once Dallas Airmotive did their inspection at PWA and gave it a clean bill of health and informed us that this is not all uncommon we felt better with the position we were in. From that point ET finished up the annual with no major issues and we took delivery of the aircraft.

We have flown it about 25 hours since then and couldnt be happier. The performance really cant be put into words... its just a really great airplane.

Ill try and post some pics in a bit.

they must be flying the Baron more per year as it doesnt match at $133 875 per year ?

your saying it would only cost me $200 more per hour to fly a Pc12 ?

To add to the discussion on the operating costs, we decided on $550/hr+fuel. You are really looking at around 800/hr including fuel. Your burn rate will be 500lbs the first hour then 400lbs from then on.

Our calculation includes all costs except hangar expenses. (ie... engine reserve, prop reserve, insurance, pilot pay....)

We also have a 2002 BE 58 Baron and we charge $250/hr+fuel.
