The Golden Nugget is the pancake house in Kettering, south of Dayton. Kind of cool, art deco place, always busy, with lines of people waiting to get in. In any event, my son was feeling lousy while we ate, maybe from something he ate earlier, as he stepped outside the door, when I was paying the bill, he got through the front door, and promptly threw up. The point being, both The Golden Nugget and I were glad there was no video!

Hey, Andrew was a trooper....as soon as he finished emptying his gut, he was telling me all about his Lego Star Wars creations, and other cool stuff. Did n't faze him (or me) a bit. I was impressed.

'course, his dad's no slouch either....<g>

And John has a beautiful Bonanza....I did a really abbreviated clinic on it and only came up with one or two items! :box:

Thanks Paul, I appreciate your comments.

Those items have been rectified. New gaskets, new springs, new grommet w/-4 bolt. That leak at #5 was between the gasket/cylinder, but also gasket/exhaust pipe. Lesson: No Blows don't last forever. Too much movement of cylinders relative to other cylinders; sepcially with the 2 bolt setup.

Yessir.... July 22nd is the planned arrival. We had a doctors appointment today, and he has 7 weeks to go, and is currently at 5lbs.9oz. which is a big baby @ 74%'tile. My little 5'4" wife is already waddling. I suspect I've done a very bad thing to a very small girl.
The baby is a healthy boy, and everything is moving along just swimmingly.

To all:
Let's try this again (I posted an intro that seemed to float off into the ether). My name is Robin White. I'm a writer (nine books published, number ten due out in September, number eleven on the way and the occasional article in Air and Space Smithsonian, too). I've owned a great Model 36 (see the photo, if the thing attaches) and, more recently, a great big-engined Navion (ditto the photo). I flew the '36 for many years, commuting to work in it, crossing the country (six times), flying in the B2OSH gaggle, and hanging out at the ABS tent, shooting the breeze with Norm Colvin and John Eckalbar. I sold the Bonanza when I didn't need its hauling capabilities and bought the Navion for pure fun. Two years ago, after flying under 100 hours/yr for two years running, I sold the Navion and thought that my flying days were done. But they are not. I miss it. A lot. So, I'm back on the hunt for an airplane; a P or S Model, maybe a 33, with midtime engine, reasonable P&I, modern IFR equipment (a must). I hope very much to find one and give it a good home. I've learned from my mistakes. Airplanes only seem to be luxuries. They're necessities!

N463K, and N979Q are two of the best airplanes I've looked at recently. The first is a P35, the second is a B33. The first one lacked a couple of things on my "must have" list, and the second lacked for nothing except a bigger engine and a smaller price. But they're both fine airplanes. What did you think of the Rochester S?

Robin,

That B33 caught my eye the other night. I did a little internet research and it seems to be well taken care of and flies often. I'm curious as to why the owner keeps a multimeter velcroed to the panel. It's been there for at least a year.

The P35 also sounds nice. I won't bother the owner for photos, though. I'm still a few months away from entering into a deal. My plan is to finish my IR rating and then start accumulating complex time in hopes of reducing insurance cost.

I will send you a PM of a nice Deb that someone shared with me. It isn't listed on any of the boards as far as I know.

I'm sorry, but you lost with the "Rochester S". What is that?

The multimeter is wired into the electrical system and serves as a kind of informal amp/volt gauge. I know. Strange. But people do odd things with their airplanes now and again. The owner of the airplane is a great guy. The "Rochester S" is an S35 for (sort of) sale that recently visited your home airport, so I assumed you'd seen and flown it. I'd suggest you might want to earn your IFR in your own airplane, with the instruction phase serving to get you over the hour hump on insurance. Plus you'll be familiar with the airplane you intend to keep flying. A conversation with a responsive aviation insurer would clarify the point.
