Thought I would take a moment to post an introduction. I have been lurking for the past several months, and I really appreciate the wealth of information available on th Beechtalk.
Although I earned my private certificate eight years ago, I am still a low time pilot with about two hundred hours. I live in a aircraft rental poor market, so I have had an ownership for the last seven years. My initial training was in C172's, and my first plane ownership was a '53 Tri-Pacer. I loved that plane for the classic simplisity. Too bad hail damaged the fabic covering. I moved into a partnership with a Super Musketeer for a couple of years, until we sold the plane. I liked the weight and handling of the Mouse, but the 14 GPH was hard on my pocket. After the Mouse I went to a basic trainer. Short on power, short on comfort, but a lot of fun to fly none the less.
Last summer the bug hit me to move up to a high performance complex plane. Since most of my flying was local with an occational day trip thrown in for fun, I wanted a plane that would fit a tight budget. My daughter is now away at college and my Mother is starting to suffer with age, I thought I might be up to some longer cross country trips. I looked at most of the entry level complex aircraft. After recommendations from my longtime A&P, I narrowed the search for an early Bonanza. Since the market was soft, there were several choices at prices comparable to a C172's listed. I finally found a 1950 B35 that met most of my desires. She is not a show plane, and she lacks the fancy avionics. But she polished up nice, and she has proven to be solid and trustworthy. The E185-11 engine is perfect for my style of flying, capable of 140 Kts cruise and 10 GPH, but still able to comfortably be flown at 8 to 9 GPH for relaxation. I realy like the classic lines of the V-tail and the early panel.
I now have thirty hours in the plane. The Bonanza is the nicest handling plane I have flown. There is plenty of power, especially since I was use to only 116 hp. Simply love it.

Location is Hurricane, UT about 15 miles east of St. George. ___
The Mouse was about 5 years ago, so 14 GPH could be overstated. Checked some of my records, but could only find fuel cost records, not gallons.
I am working on the pictures. Still have not quite figured out to get to a public URL.

Here are a few pictures of 40C.
Can hardly believe the plane has flow across the country, nearly a dozen local cross country local flights, and transition training for three of us totalling sixty hours without so much as problem. All since the end of August. My A&P keeps singing its praise. I am very excited. Heading to Kingman, AZ for business in the morning.
