Hi to All,

my name is Cristian and I am from Italy, so please, first of all, forgive my bad english.

I am a commercial helicopter pilot with about 5000 hours on rotary wings, I am running my own company in the northern Italy.
Beside my job, now I'd like to get in a new challenge: buy a fixed wing aircraft to fly for leisure all around southern Europe when off. I have been researching for a while and between Piper Saratoga and A36 Bonanza I decided the Bo is the one for me. I am now looking for a pre-owned one in the mid 1990s here in Europe.
That's why I joined the forum, I do not have much experience on fixed wing aircraft...
I am particularly concerned about passengers comfort so I wonder whether the super sound proofing is a must or not.
Any advice will be very appreciated.
Happy landings to everybody!

Welcome, Cristian! Good luck on your search. You won't find a better-made aircraft than the Beechcraft.

Super-soundproofing is not a high priority item, simply because it produces less benefit for a lot more money than a good set of noise cancelling or in-ear headsets. If you do a headset search on this forum, you will find a lot of discussion on Bose, Zulu, Halo, and Clarity Aloft sets made in the U.S. I'm not sure who sells in Europe: Sennheiser and Telex maybe? But they are less well liked.

Startup clue: 1 AMU = 1 Aviation Monetary Unit = $1000 USD

Hi to all,

I live in Carpi a small city close to Modena (Ferrari and Maserati cars), anyway about 100 nm from Milan. My company is based in LIDU, little quiet airfiled that luckily will see a A36 added to local fleet...

Paul, many thans for your advice on super soundproofing. I am familiar with both Bose X and Light Speed Zulu that I use every day on our helicopters, difficult to say which is better...
I guess any of them will serve the Bo, may be better Zulu thanks to Bluetooth connection.

Greetings and welcome to the Beechcraft world. Over the last 2 years I have been working my 2 fine Italian friends from Rome. Renata Sarno and Paolo Marmentini. They are both located on Rome and commute to Naples FL. about every 4-6 weeks to fly the G36 (N241RS) owned by Renata. Either, or both of them would be very glad to share their Bonanza flight experiences with you I am sure. Paolo also owns a SuperCub based near Rome. I will try to get Paolo in tough with you through this website.

Hello Guys...

My name is Paolo Marmentini and I noticed that Mr. Chuck Cook has already introduced me on the website.

I live in Rome but I monthly fly to Florida to enjoy and fly a new beechcraft G36 that my friend Renata owns. The plane has now nearly 200hrs on it

I MUST SAY IN CAPITAL LETTER THAT IT IS THANKS TO MR. CHUCK COOK BPPP INSTRUCTOR WITH HUNDREDS OF HRS OF BONANZA 33/35/36 EXPERIENCE ( HIGHLY RECCOMENDED!!!!! )THAT NOW I CAN SAY THAT THIS PLANE HAS NOT SECRETS FOR ME ANYMORE AND I FEEL THE PLANE AS I WOULD FEEL A CUSTOMISED GLOVE BUILT ON ONE OF MY HAND. I REALLY SAFELY ENJOY THE PLANE :) BUT I DO HAVE A LOT OF RESPECT FOR LADY BONANZA

Anyway...

Dear Cristian If you want to contact me and ask me whatever I would likt to ask please do it at the following number:

Finally a helicopter pilot. That's what I really want to do. It is fairly pricey and robinson helicopters are all anyone around my area wants to talk about. What do you think about the R22?

Hi Brett,

we currently operate among others helicopters 4 R22s. It is really a great machine, not much power but extremely reliable, we fly about 700 hours/year per helicopter without any major issue. In regard to reliability there is no comparison with Hughes/Schweizer 269C (we stopped to operate them on 1996 when we swopped to R22).
R22 is also quite cheap to operate but not really suitable to travel (no any other space if you are not solo on board), it's a nice helicopter to have fun on short local flights around your base. If you are thinking about an helicopter to travel you should think at least to his brother R44, more powerful, faster and more capable, same reliability, almost twice the operating cost tough.
However, we do not operate any R44, not good if used for charter due to lack of baggage room and of power when full loaded. We are operating the Bell 206 instead.

Paolo,

I am looking to purchase a Bonanza here in Italy, mainly to get the chance to fly for tourism fast, far and under IFR around southern Europe, something I cannot do with helicopters.
I've got your phone no. and surely I'll get in touch with you soon.
Ciao

Piachere to you two Italian Bo owners,

I am still waiting to fly the G36 from Florida to Italy...whenever you are ready....
sounds like a partnership might be forming up?

Anyway welcome to the Beech Talk Forum. Chris why don't you hook up with Paolo and bring the G36 to a BPPP clinic.....there you will see approximately 70 bonanza/Barons and meet with as many owners. A great way to "shop" the Bonanza model.

Welcome.
Ciao
