Hello, i hope this is the appropriate place to post this message. i am not currently a bonanza owner but i want to learn as much as possible. i have owned a cesnna 182 for 3 years now and want to upgrade to a faster plane which can carry more weight. i have looked at everything and seem to keep coming back to the bonanza's. i am pretty sure this is the plane for me now i am just trying to decide on which one. The choice seem to be betwen the f33 and the a or b 36. any input or advice would really be appreciated. thanks

Hi: My name is Sean and I used to drive a Skylane... Bill: I moved up to an A36 Bonanza from a 182 about 3 months ago because my mission changed, and I couldn't quite get the wife, 2 kids, and all their accessories into the cargo compartment of the 182. An A36 with the back seats removed is quite adequate for me. Loading through barn doors on the A36 is much nicer than poking my head through the 182 baggage door  . My A36 has similar fuel burn to my 182 (12.5 LOP), but is easily 35 knots faster. I can carry more, both in weight and size. I also find the Bonanza to be much more pleasant to fly in turbulence and crosswinds. My A36 has been trouble-free for 100 hours, and was very reliable for the previous owner. Depends on your mission. In my opinion, if you need the baggage space, or are flying more that 200 nm, then the Bonanza is the way to go.

Thanks for all of you for getting back to me. i really appreciate it. The reason i am looking to change planes are really two fold. one as my family continues to grow we seem to be pushing the weight limits more often on our 182. secondly i like to take longer trips and would like to pick up some speed.
i fly out the palm springs and camarillo quite often from torrance. just got back from a trip out to dallas. i just like to pick places and to discover and i think i would like to extend my range by being able to get to some places quicker then i do now.
finally i guess i just really like the look of the f33 and b36 models. they seem like a blast fly and i am just attracted to them.

Welcome Bill, I went through the same thing for the same reasons and upgraded from a Piper Warrior to an F33A. I loved the airplane and spent a lot of money upgrading the paint, interior, and avionics. The F33A is fast and a dream to fly. With my need for more room and ease of loading I decided to switch to an A36. With the extra room in the rear and the double cargo doors I now have the perfect airplane for my needs. My A36 is as fast as the F33A with about the same range and fuel cost. I also found a more favorable C/G because the wing on the A36 is 11 inches aft of the F33A. A few times my F33A would sit down on the tail while loading passangers in the back seats. My solution was to stand on the wing in the doorway while loading. Both planes are great, just depends on your personal needs.

Hi Bill,
Welcome!!!! I trained in Archers and Warriors...have a little time in some 172s ...and a Mooney..then moved into a B36TC (also at Torrance). I do not have much experience in other planes...but from where I stand today there is NOTHING that I know of that is like a Bo! Flying one just feels...Right!
