Standing in my driveway this afternoon I looked up saw a large military transport jet of some kind southeast bound out of Dallas Love field. Living directly under the flight path of the shorter runway I see planes all the time on approach/departure, but it's generally southwest 737s and other small jets.

Not sure it was a Globemaster, but it was some kind of 4 jet engine high wing airplane that looks a lot like the photo below. I'm not sure its a Globemaster but the bulges on the belly are similar what I saw.

Anyone know the story about this aircraft? It would have departed KDAL at ~4:15 today. I'd love to know if it was in fact a Globemaster- whatever it was it was BIG.

That is a C-17 Globemaster. It's based out of Niagara Falls, NY. It's a Guard plane.

I've spent some time wrenching on those back when I was on Active Duty.

Sorry if that wasn't clear- I stole that photo from the internet as an example, I didn't take it. I only wish I could have been that close to it!

It was carrying hair care products, and foot-from-mouth remover for the VeeP.

Our esteemed Vice-Pres is in town to attend a fund-raiser at the home of a lawyer who became fabulously wealthy on medical malpractice suits.

Ironies abound.

There's been a VIP TFR over President Bush's home for a while- was there another one in Dallas today?

Edit: never mind-I assume there was a TFR from Skip's post below.

Big one, not the little helicopter-discourager over GWB's domicile.
