Geeze Hang in there Jason. I for one like your snobbish repartee. Ha! :dancing:

I don’t think any of us have enough information yet to vilify the chap flying the plane. I think all here could safely assume that the pilot didn’t set out to kill the poor man on the beach, but it happened. Probably an accident.

I think Jason’s point is that this event (the death of the beachgoer) was quite possibly an avoidable accident, and if so, the pilot should not receive a free pass and must take responsibility for his choices.

BTW, I like the spirited debate, though I believe Sister Mary Joseph would have smacked most of us upside the heads for the proffering of a vacant and emotional defense while in her debate class.

I just noticed that there is a 'permanently ignore thread' button on BT :woot:

Except that it doesn't work :pullhair: Pushed button, thread still there.

Tom, yes that authorized service center part was supposed to be a joke, but if I have to splain it I guess it wasn't working for you. Are you saying you think the plane was uncontrollable without the prop? some planes are, but I dont know for certain about the accident airplane. The side stick part shouldn't be an issue. The oil on the windshield should be a serious distraction but not a death sentance.

I beg your pardon. Here im giving advice about someone losing their sense of humor. I apologize. No, the plane wasnt uncontrollable, witness the outcome. But the CG would have moved aft dramatically and made it pretty skittish in pitch. A side stick is an issue for these reasons.
Your stuck with only your right hand to do the other chores. Tighten your seat belts, unlatch the doors, shut off fuel, unnessesary electrical loads, stow any lose gear, pray.
With a center yoke you can swap hands easily. With a center stick you can hold it with your knees if you need to.
You think a Bonanza is slippery? The Lanceair is greased lightining NORMALLY. Super high wing loading. Take away the prop and you have no dynamic braking from it. Ever fly a jet?
They dont decelerate like a prop. Your runway length requirements going to go way up.
This stuff is really just basic common knowledge. I am surprised when a lot of conjecture and supposition arises that ignores these basic premises.
Ever had a windshield obscured by oil? Trust me its an enormous factor in a CUB, much less a Rocket ship.
Tom
Plus id rather laugh at a situation then cry over it. Sorry if i ruffled your feathers.

First you offend me, then Kyle on Beech18.net, now Jason. You break every code we adhere to and you dont stop

That is Three strikes and in my opinion you should be gone. You have been kicked out of Beech18.net, yahooforums beech18 and hopefully soon here.

Hi Doug,,,thought you left? Now why are you getting worked up? YOu dont believe anything I say anyway...and I dont have any proof for any of my statements in here so..its just fodder right? to coin your phrase. Heres a phrase you might consider.
NOYB? or MYOB? You are ONE opinionated guy by your own admission. I offended you? How? Taking offense at being called a liar? Keep things in context there Dougie.
Hard to leave isnt it? lol

Tom,

Careful "old timer". Don't get too worked up.

I'm curious, have you flown a Lancair?

Although there are several valuable comments in this thread, we are so far off the civility path it's laughable. So, it is time to close this down.
