Yeah, thanks again for telling me about it! This sure beats evenings surfing the web looking for more aviation toys to buy....we'll, at least cheaper. :)

Randy, Yves is looking for a restored B55 Baron - you know of any?

There was a spectacular 1970 E55 on eBay that sold for $140,000. I know of one B58 for sale from a friend... he rarely flies it and would like to trade for an A36. That's all I know of right now.

To John Ashcroft:
Excellent pictures of your Debonair!
Nice colors on the wings....
I have a question: What is that thing in the face of the glove (owners manual storage) compartment?
Is it a kind of E6B?

Welcome!

I can't let Jason get away with is cool AF picture without representing the Navy. Here's my contribution - the venerable HH-60H. It's not from any of my squadrons but a cool picture nonetheless.

I hope to post some cool form pictures from our flight after the Mid-California fly-in this Saturday.

Here is one from my last squadron. I miss that machine. I need to figure out how to make the Bonanza hover.

Pat,

To me that is one ugly critter. I'm amazed something like that can actually fly. :o

Even so, I'd really love to fly it.

Try to fly it across Texas this time of year like I did. :D

Keith - thanks for the words. Much appreciated.

Max - well, I suppose it is ugly, but it's a ton of fun to fly!

Jeff - I know what you mean. I have flown across Texas a few times, but in a T-34C and the helo - those are some killer winds that can really slow you down if you are going the wrong way.

Here is the 35C - I guess it does look better than the helo.

Thanks
Pat

Pat,

I can't tell if that is a SpecOps bird or not. Did you do any flying with the HCS guys?

Neal,

Good eye! Its the active fleet HH-60H - I am an HS guy - that picture is from HS-3. The HCS guys are mainly reserve guys and they play a little bit more regularly than us fleet guys. There are some minor differences between the two airframes but in broad terms its pretty much the same.

Welcome aboard.

Hey, a tip on Beechcraft jargon.... Your airplane is known as a C35, not a 35C......

Great model by the way. Best handling of all the "larger-tail" birds...still very light, and very efficient. I plan for around 165 MPH on less than 10 gph at cruise.

But how would I know that?

Yea I knew HCS 4 and 5 were reservists but wasn't sure if there was also an AD contingent that did that kind of flying. I flew with a guy at my last airline who was AD Army then transferred to the USNR in SD to fly with an HCS squadron. The videos/stills he showed us from Afghanistan and Iraq were simply incredible. What a ridiculous mission those guys have.

Do you know Dan Boston? He's 32...flew Seahawks but I believe he is with VT4 now down at Pensacola. I went to college with him.

Neal,

I don't know Dan but I know the squadron well. They shared the hangar with us in VT10. I was fortunate to instruct there 2000 to late 2002 - I left just as VT10 got the first T-6's on the flight line - so I missed out on that machine.

Yes, the HCS guys fly some cool stuff. We mainly flew with the Brits down south near the coast and did some cool work but those HCS guys were a little bit busier than we were.

Paul - thanks - I keep mixing it up. This is my first plane so there is a ton to learn! You have a '52 C35 as well? I will have to hit you up for some questions if you have time. I've read some books on the different series but still have questions...

Thanks
Pat
