Since the FAA has granted Sierra permission to land Dream Chaser at KHSV, about 4nm from my house, I am 100% rooting for them to be successful.

I was thinking just the other day how I missed seeing the occasional shuttle landing. Awesome technology for its day.

Never saw a landing, but I saw a launch once from about 30 miles away. Someone had a radio tuned to the Launch Control frequency and we all held our breaths when we heard "Go with throttle up."

Went to Edwards to watch the first shuttle landing with John Young as commander and Robert Crippen as co-pilot. They had us so far away that it was hard to see let alone photograph. After waiting for a day and a half or so it was over in a minute or two.
