Quote: The FBO’s will salivate when you pull into their ramp and everybody will have their hand out. This isn't as bad as you might think. I haven't paid a ramp fee in years because you are buying fuel which usually waives ramp fees, and you are buying fuel at a good discount in almost all cases. Parking is more for the jet than the turboprop, but not hugely so. I have seen cases where a turboprop parking charge is higher than a jet. Not common, but it does exist. When you stay a long time, say a week, the parking charge can favor going to an airport with more expensive fuel. For example, fuel is $0.36 more at KVNC versus KSRQ for me, but parking is $140 cheaper per night. That works out to 389 gallons per night, so it doesn't take long to favor KVNC due to the lower parking charge. Mike C.

I’m in contract on a 501SP! Joining the JetA burners club! Super excited! Still in due diligence phase but I’m hoping everything works out! It’s been quite the week, had my 4th kid 2 days ago, in contract on a jet today, turn 41 tomorrow! Does it get any better?

Doing some digging, looking at the destination for tomorrow, private strip is 3670 ft at nearly sea level - https://www.airnav.com/airport/31EGoogle says 3200 ft for T/O and landing the 501. Would you send it?

Would you send it? As long as it's dry, no problem at all, even without TRs. If the plane has TRs then you could even do that with a wet runway. 3200 is about right for taking off heavy, landing when light is way less - book says 2200 or so depending on temps and weights. Now that is max performance braking but also touching down at 1,000'. So if you're doing a visual approach you can land a little shorter and you likely won't be Cessna test pilot good on the braking so it'll be about a wash.
