Price reduced to $1095 obo.

I am selling an HSI that was removed (at the same time as the vacuum system) for autopilot upgrade. (See nearby post.). Once you've flown with an HSI, it's hard to consider ever going back to just a DG.

The instrument is air driven, internally lighted, and slaved by (included) magnetometer.

The unit was overhauled by Aircraft Precision Instruments of Corona, CA in late 2021, and has worked flawlessly ever since. It was carefully removed (by an A&P) from a 1976 V35B.

For those who are not ready to rip out their vacuum system, this fine example of an HSI could bring you years of service. It's important to the owner that this HSI goes to pilot that will thoroughly enjoy it. As such, the price is quite negotiable.

If you're interested in the HSI and the complete vacuum / pressure system, a great deal can be had for all of it.

I don't know if I missed this in class, but I am not sure I realized that the HSI could be powered by a vacuum. Glad to hear your panel upgrade is coming along, how's the hub treating you?

An HSI is a remarkable instrument that combines a directional gyro and a course deviation indicator and a glideslope indicator to display relative position to a fix and a course.

It's part air-driven gyro, and part electronic indicator. The combination of these makes this mutli-functional instrument so cool, and why people don't want to give them up until they make huge changes to the panel.

I'd love to see the inside, it's amazing what they were able to build back in the day.

If you saw the inside , you would NEVER fly behind it !!! I have one in a Mooney I use to travel for business... Works great BUT I always think of the insides when I am flying it !!

Well, I have to disagree. It is a weird-ass instrument, to be sure. But, I have seen the inside of them, and that somehow makes it seem more remarkable to me.

I'm selling this one for a friend, but I still have the very same model in my P35, and i LOVE it.

For those considering this, but are put off by the asking price, give me a decent offer and it's yours.

Cheers,
Marc
