The tiny little spring that operates the latch on our oil service door has broken. The latch assembly is available for like $60, but I’m wondering if there is a better solution.

Any ideas are welcome.

Preferred air parts, has a lot of used parts. might have to buy the whole door .

Is the pin that the spring rids on a rivet head on the other side or threaded or just clipped in with a circlip of some sort?

If you have to cut that pin to get the broken spring out/new spring in maybe simpler just to drill out the rivets and spend the $.

60 bucks for the unit actually sounds cheap, I would have thought $500 given Ce$$na pricing these days. Just replaced my shimmy damper. Cessna $5 grand, Mcfarlane 1200, Lord $900, got a good price there on the Lord.
