****Sale pending as of 4-11-25. I’ll update the thread is the sale does not go through https://www.barnstormers.com/classified ... atid=17397$125K Cross posting. This plane is owned by a good friend of mine. He bought the plane in September of 2023 around the time he finished his PPL. I think he's put well over 150 hours on it since that time. He was really close to doing a major panel OH but decided it simply wasn't the airframe he wanted long term. He is in the process of buying a 206 which gives him the extra room he needs for the mountain bikes. If you area looking for a workhorse 182 it's worth a look.

With a past TBO continental engine and dated panel, you think so? 182 values seem to be high right now. (I'm only a casual observer of the market because we already have one, but we upped the value for insurance purposes a couple of years ago.) The engines can go well over TBO if well cared for.

This plane is not ideal for someone that believes TBO is an expiration date.
This engine could easily go up to 1000 more hours if someone will just keep it flying.
Probably no better value for a newish pilot that wants a solid and easy to fly plane with tons of utility (real 4 seater). Do a panel upgrade if you like for IFR or use it as is for VFR. Your choice but the ROI would be pretty solid for that.
Just my opinion.

Engine and panel could easily cost $100k. With a new engine and panel, is this a $225k airplane? Mebbe…..

Username Protected wrote: A Extensive annual completed July 2024, versus what? Fair point Bob. All annuals are created equal and the decisions on whether to repair / replace / defer are never subjective. While this isn’t my plane personally I have seen the range of attention to detail at annual in the planes I’ve owned. My first few years of ownership I didn’t know any better and used a mechanic (great guy btw) that allowed owner assisted annuals. I’d fly to him at sunrise and remove all the panels and stuff. I’d fly home later that afternoon with a “fresh annual”. A few years into ownership a new mechanic moved to my local field. I heard he was good but a little more expensive but the convenience of being on the field made up the difference in my mind. This first annual took 4-5 days and uncovered a multitude of issues that had been overlooked or simply deferred that needed attention. Each day at lunch I’d drop by the airport and the mechanic would pick up his pen light and clip board. We’d do a walk around and he’d discuss the prior 24 hours of inspection, what his findings were, and what he recommended. I learned a lot that first year of using the new mechanic. *** for the record I am not saying owner assisted annuals are bad by any means. That’s just the way my story read. Owner assisted annuals can certainly be as meticulous as any other.
