But at 148kts "max cruise" and 904lbs of useful load, it just doesn't do anything to make me want it.

Yeah my 60 year old twin goes 20 kts faster and hauls another 1000 pounds... burns a smidge more fuel tho. :D

It's a twin engine Cessna 182 RG. If you look at it that way, it makes more sense.

It would be interesting to see what 160hp per side would do for the specs, though.

If they did that and increased fuel and load, maybe added TKS, they'd have a pretty wicked little contender.

i think the 916 would be ideal, but it is heavier, so they'd have to beef up useful load a bit before they attempted that. I'm sure they will eventually - in fact, the film already talks about a payload increase, so maybe it's in the cards?

It’s a shame they couldn’t find a narrator that spoke proper English

By proper English, do you mean the Queen's English/King's English? It would be neat to hear it with a UK "accent." As a close friend from the UK, not a US Citizen reminds me, I am the one with the accent.

It would also be neat to hear this in Italian and read the English subtitles!

I sat in one at Oshkosh this summer. Every new airplane I sat in or asked the price of made my love my 62-year-old Twin Bonanza a little more.

I also checked these out at Oshkosh. They had a very friendly salesman who gave me a lot of info.

Really neat planes, but completely aimed at flight schools and pilots trying to build multi-engine hours for the airlines at minimum dollars. All about running Rotax on auto gas.

They aren't designed to be cross-country family haulers.
