I am not just talking about anonymous internet advice, which was free and a mix of very helpful to very stupid. Peter hired some competent people from the early stages to the flight test team that walked. He refused to listen to or learn from any of them.

Also, the essentials of aerodynamics, engines, and performance aren't exactly dark magic or state secrets, not in this day and age. You don't have to be an expert or really much knowledgeable at all- if you've got investment money to plug into venture capital then surely you're resourceful enough to have old friends and contacts who are more tech minded. Call up an old engineering nerd friend and ask if this is really a good idea. Or if you believe in things like big oil hiding the 100mpg carburetor that runs on water then sure... everyone is free to do what they wish with their money.

I like threads like this, where one person says “this is a stupid idea” and gets assaulted by a half dozen remarks about the Wright Brothers and — if we’re lucky — a quote of the Teddy Roosevelt “Man in the Arena” talk. “Please inform us how many aircraft you’ve designed and built. . . .”
