This thread comes to a close. The owner took delivery today. The GHS mentor staff looks forward to working with the students again next year anew. https://youtu.be/LoGCe-1YscgThere was discussion of taking it to Mena for some colors by an artist we all know and love.

This was our final day in the school before the Christmas break. The students are amazing in that all the control surfaces including the horizontal and vertical stabs are complete. One wing will be completed the first day of next year with one to go. The tailcone, lift struts, rudder pedal, and control stick subassemblies are complete. The cockpit cage has been prepared for tailcone mating soon after the break. Provisions have been made, after a bond failed (by 2 votes) that we have a place on the airport to do final assembly. We look to receive the engine and avionics by the end of next month.

The students have just about worked themselves out of a job. The first wing went into storage with the second not far behind. The tailcone was mated to the cockpit this week and should be completed early next week.

We have 8 sessions left in this school year. We hope to get all the avionics wiring terminated and let the kids see it light up before they graduate. It will likely go on the gear next week for transport to KGDJ which is right across the street from the school.
We really need to get the word out that this airplane is up for sale. We would like to find a benefactor that would get in now. Our issue is that we can’t get it registered without a named owner or start flight testing. If one got in now they could have an input on paint before final assembly. We want to keep this program running but it is dependent on a good sale. We were fortunate to have had one who stepped up to the plate and gave us the first one. We can’t sell at discounted prices or it won’t cover the next kit. If anyone is interested in helping us and the students please spread the word.
Thank you all for following this journey.

This marks the final day of production of this school year. The final days will be spent making the move across the street to our new airport facility. Again, this airplane is for sale if anyone needs a better performing airplane than a Carbon Cub at a much lesser cost.
