90% of the time I run 26"/2200RPM 36GPH

Aircraft performs exponentially better at high altitude, the sweet spot in this airplane is 22-24,000' (cabin alt of 8000-10,000). Cabin altitude is 11,000' at FL250 and just gets a little uncomfortable, but for clearing weather I will go to FL250. Aircraft climbs very well even at the higher altitudes. Normally 1300FPM to 14,000', 1000FPM to FL190, 7-900FPM to FL250.

Very impressive speeds! What is the fuel burn for the speeds at altitude that your picturs show? Do insurance companies usually require recurrent or sim training every year? How is the cabin (width) for backseaters and front seaters compared to say a baron?

The power settings and fuel flow are in the file comment for each picture, 36-40gph in all of those pictures.

Aerostar is about 5" wider than a baron, and its the same width through the whole cabin. So probably like 10" wider than a baron rear seat. Plenty of room!

Insurance for most people requires training or a IPC in the aircraft annually. My ins requires training every 2.

I LOVE this airplane. Really enjoyed your youtube videos and was lucky enough to see the airplane parked on the ramp at one of my stops in to KCPS, super clean! GLWS!

Beautiful plane. How does it run LOP?

Also, does it have altitude preselect?

Does LOP effortlessly, I am the altitude preselect ha! The gi-275 has an altitude alerter that works great.

I would never change the AP in this plane, it flies it very well. The Stec 3100 is the other option and hit/miss…. I have another aircraft with a 3100, not worth it.
