My first good flying job was flying a 79’ Cheyenne I. N504TQ. Almost 30 years later and I remember the N number. It put a smile on my face seeing your plane.

Cheyennes like this don't need RVSM because their best altitudes are FL200 to FL260. The speed falls off above that because you're TIT limited. I found FL230 to be perfect for speed/fuel burn for most trips. Including Providence RI to Palm Beach FL, most times non-stop.

I was looking at II and IIXL but don't have any reliable data on I. That’s the same move I made Thomas - 1,000 miles and 245kts is a good realistic frame of reference. I find mine to be very temp sensitive in terms of speed…In the winter I routinely see 250kts but am closer to 240kts in the summer. I have been extremely happy with the move from my 58P to the Cheyenne. Happy to answer any other questions.

Good to hear that you are happy with the transition, I was looking to TBM700 as well because of speed and range but 1 engine can be scary over water. What is the maximum economy range on your Chayenne? I have few long hauls where it would be handy to go past 1000nm without refueling.
