Nice plane, GLWS. Is the engine time/date correct?
1,220 SMOH in 12/2022
That’s a lot of flying if so.

My mistake guys... 1268 SMOH in 1998. I corrected the ad. These owners want the airplane sold so I would encourage offers.

To clarify…it had 1268smoh in 1998, or 1268 since o/h in 1998? Nice K model but either way not far away from a $60k + O/H….ah re-read your correction. 1268 since O/H in 1998…that makes it 25 years since O/H…

Huh? You don’t know that. Fly it frequently, listen to what the motor is telling you and this one could go another 1000 hours.

Im NOT scared of a 25 Y/O OVH that has flown “Enough” per year to keep the rust and corrosion at bay. Especially if compressions are good and there are no oil leaks.

Biggest question is was the “OTHER” MX done? (Hoses/Fuel Pumps/Injectors/Spyder/Exhaust/Baffle Seals/Flex Lines)?

Nope I’m not worried about an “OLD” OVHL.

Just an OLD Airplane with no “MX”!!

This one LOOKS NICE!!!

I have owned THREE 57 H models. One with a 260 HP upgrade, and TWO with the 250 HP 470-C Fuel Injection Mod.

They ALL had “Every Speed Mod”. But NONE of them had tip tanks. Also working on several for Rocky Roquemore, I have one thing that was pretty persistent.

160 KTAS at 8-10K Feet on 13.7 GPH.

4 airplanes with the same motor, and THOUSANDS of hours in them over the last 40 years can NOT be wrong!!!

Aviation Safety Products did the belts (Poly Moondust) and the full interior was reupholstered by First Class Aerospace at KLEE. That is all the detail we have but they should be able to give specifics on the features.

Philip... The owners literally just replaced a jug on the plane and I believe it was the number three cylinder but I'm checking to make certain. I'm also getting a list of current compressions and new jugs SMOH. That said, if anyone has an interest in the plane, please by all means, make an offer. The owners want to sell it and having inspected it, it truly is a well preserved piece of Beech history well preserved by two ex fighter pilots.

Those compression numbers are meaningless by themselves. If you are interested in the plane go take a look with a boroscope then you might be able to make an informed judgement.
Its also poor form to stomp on someone's ad.
Mike

Nothing at all overly concerning about those compression numbers. Do a hot compression test during pre-buy and listen, especially the exhaust. Verify oil consumption and look for oil on the belly (from rings or old worn dipstick gasket) Boroscope the cylinders. Look at the cylinder walls and exhaust valves. Rope trick and clean exhaust valves / seats if necessary. Consider a jug overhaul or replace if ring compression or burnt valves beyond on engine repair. These are standard maint checks for continentals that pilots should become familiar with. Easy Peezy.
