It is with great reluctance that I am selling my Stearman. I never thought I would say it but I need to get rid of some planes as I just don’t have time to fly them. I think these planes need to be flown and not hangar queens. So here are the details:

1942 BOEING STEARMAN, SERIAL #75-3617 N898MD
200 Since complete restoration by Caruso Aviation in 2009
Restoration in 2009 with Ceconite covering in original Army scheme
200 SMOH 220hp Continental W670-6A serial #15622 with roller bearing mod.
50 since McCauley prop overhaul and AD compliance
Bendix E-80 starter
Jasco alternator
Red line brakes
Yesteryear aviation smoke system
Yesteryear aviation fuel gauge
Hooker harnesses
Diamond tread tires
Whelen navs and strobes
Becker comm and transponder no ADSB
PS engineering intercom
Artex 406 elt

EAA 863 best of show winner 2018

Excellent extensive restoration by Caruso Aviation. Flown regular, always hangared, must see to appreciate.

Price $154,900.00
Located at M54 Lebanon TN. About 20 miles east of Nashville International airport

Wow...this is a great looking Stearman. It has all the bells and whistles. If you're thinking of joining the party, fellows, this is the one to buy. Good luck with the sale!

Choice!

If you’re looking to get involved with a Stearman, that looks like a perfect example. Honest, lovely flying airplanes. And the stock, 220-horse Kaydet is the best of them all.

Here’s a bump for the pretty Boeing. Question:

Where did you get those seat cushions? Mine are so thin I might as well be sitting on the ‘chute.

Attention BT readers:

The Stearman is a shamelessly honest airplane that approaches the Piper Cub in its sheer emblematic status and qualities. Sublime, well-harmonized controls that are always a joy. Draggy, ever so slightly underpowered, it’s an airplane that will force you to think and commit.

Built like a bridge, it’s a brightly colored sensei that will teach you a lot about flying and who you are as an aviator.

You could buy (steal) Steve’s airplane, enjoy it for a year or two and sell it for what you bought it for. Don’t be afraid of what you think it would be like to learn the airplane. A bunch of kids right off the farm learned to fly these beautifully, you can too.

Thanks for the bump. The seat cushions were with it when I purchased it in 2018. They are actually very comfortable. It is a ball to fly and the Stearmans are always crowd pleasers anywhere you go. I am just not flying it much now. I bought a UPF-7 at Oshkosh to try something different for a bit.
