For sale is a 1950 Cessna 170A. This aircraft is great for a tailwheel trainee or a great machine to go out and have fun on the weekends. You can carry 4 people and still sip 8 gallons per hour doing 95 knots true airspeed. I have personally owned this aircraft for 3 years and I used it for flight training and time building. It has flown over 300 hours in the past 3 years. Please PM me if you have any questions!

2nd airplane I owned was a 1955 Cessna 170B. Purchased in 1975 and we kept it until 1983 when I purchased my first Bonanza. They are great flying airplanes, economical to fly and very stable as a conventional gear time builder. Not once in 8 years did it ever give me any landing issues and that was even with cross winds of up to 20k. Straight and solid on the ground. Can't say the same for a number of other conventional geared airplanes I have flown (Aeronca 11AC, Luscombe, Funk, Cessna 140). Great airplane, good luck with the sale.

Jim

My first:

Bought it before I had one logged hour. Got my private license in it (at KRHV no less).

Sold it after 480 hours since I needed an IFR longer range plane (PA24-260B Comanche), but I still miss it. Nothing I've owned since has a tenth the style that 170 had.

I will tell you that primary training in a tailwheel aircraft is amazingly useful when you get to multiengine aircraft. That whole rudder thing was no problem for me. I got my multiengine rating in 2 days. No joke.
