This is a big deal! Is it unique to the Citation and SPZ? Seems like a lot of old analog autopilots would work basically the same. Who makes it?

I wondered if the avionlik.de products could do such magic. They make the altitude preselect interface I was contemplating to pre-select and capture KFC300 altitudes directly from Garmin G600 glass. They also make the Sperry SPZ LPV interface, but my guess is not many installers have any experiences with it. Maybe it has some promise. If anyone had the guts to try it, it’s probably the folks at Cypress aircraft. https://www.avionik.de/en/products/avsr ... erter.htmlCouldn’t get link function to work

This is a big deal! Genesys (STEC) claim their STEC 5000 digital autopilot can do VNAV. I'm slightly skeptical, so I'd want to see it in action before I believe it. My skepticism comes from sources who say the VNAV information from Garmin navigators is present only on the HSDB Ethernet which is hard to get access to, versus the more open ARINC 429 or RS 232 interfaces. I will patiently wait for more information before getting too excited about this. Mike C.

Vnav functionality is available over the 429 bus, with installations not utilizing any HSDB interfaces

My setup is G700 TXi, GTN 750 Xi, and the boxes are mostly connected via HSDB. Would that mean the VNAV data is absent from the 429 busses? If so, then there still is a problem getting the information. Mike C.

Vnav data can be sent via HSDB or 429. It is HSDB in your installation. For example, in a G5 or G3X installation with a GTN, Vnav is sent over the 429 bus.

VNAV is sent over A429 label 117. All of the GAMA A429 out formats in the GTN send that label.
