Undamaged p/n 50-384090 with working Heuer Auto-Rallye stopwatch. The parts catalog calls this "emblem, control wheel". The stopwatch is attached with velcro that looks like it will come off if desired.

Buyer beware -- sale was agreed upon by int'l mail and wire transfer. Then Jay had second thoughts regarding a wire transfer fee and wanted to sell it US-based only. Within 40 minutes, I replied that I would provide a US check and a US shipping address, but then the item had reportedly already been sold.

I'd have second thoughts too if I realized I posted my $1000 Heuer Auto Rallye timer for $75.

Possibly; but there is always option a) of standing by your word, or option b) of admitting a mistake. Choosing option c) is just disappointing.

It was none of those. It sold for asking price per the terms of the ad. Unfortunately I wasn't the lucky buyer.

The stopwatch isn't in the best physical shape (it does work), and looking around eBay and the enthusiast sites it seemed to be in the hundred dollar range. If someone can make a little money on it, fine. If the buyer wants to use it as an approach timer, fine. No second thoughts on the sale price at all. My philosophy is to get excess gear into the hands of someone who can use it. When I checked with my bank, taking a $25 charge on an incoming international wire on a $70 purchase didn't make sense.

It was a wisecrack, Herr Reinacher. Maybe the misunderstanding was an idiomatic thing. I wasn't impugning Jay for a lack of diligence or integrity. I've seen the same model for 900-1K when paired with a matching 12 hour clock if they run and look very good. I have a soft spot for Heuers. If I'd seen it first I would have bought it: It looks fine, better than EBay junk.
