Heat treated airframes, but not sure the intense x-ray lithography is approved for non-destructive testing.There was a B-17 that served as a ground test dummy for 3 test blasts in the 1950s in Nevada. Later was sold for less than $300. Owner fixed it on site and flew it out. It was converted for fire bomber duties until the mid 1980s.
 I flew on it when it was with the CF as 909.
 Unfortunately now lost in the crash at Bradley.
