In my reading of the checklist it looks like 1500 meters (4920 feet) and travel 14 kilometers (7.5 nautical miles). So that looks like 1.5 nautical miles/ 1000 feet.

With a Concorde 38 amp battery, I had no need for more electrical power in an engine out glide from 17,500... which should take no more than 20 minutes.
But then you can't do this:

What I learned from racing motorcycles - the easiest way to reduce weight is for the rider to go on a diet This didn’t stop from me from spending way too much money on Carbon Fiber parts however… Jim

Every 7 lbs is 1 HP. I would laugh when people would tell me how many grams they saved by switching to titanium hardware...

Finally got it home! (and my son managed to jump in the front seat for the photo-bomb)... Great community- looking forward to learning the ropes. Tight engine- flew better than I expected (because, I was inverted...)

Tight engine- flew better than I expected (because, I was inverted...) Congrats! I think that's Gary's old jet... the one he deadsticked onto a levee in the everglades (plane was fine, engine wasn't). Have you joined CJAA (classicjets.org)? There's an event this weekend (March 2-5) in Fairhope, Alabama KCQF. Formation flying and Dan McCue will be there if you want to try low level aerobatics with someone super experienced. They'll have an aerobatic box over the airport too.

yes- i have the pics of it sitting on the levee. he is obviously a pretty good stick; and the motor was OH'd at the factory, so that's a plus.
I'll be at the CJA event in April at PVG- that's the first one I can make.

I saw what I believe to be an L-39 in pretty bad shape at Quincy, IL (KUIN), along with two MiG-29s (heard the owner had two more that were airworthy)

Are you planning on flying it into Osh? After a nice practice / proficiency weekend, we took a few XC this past weekend to pre-stage - should be coming in on Thurs.

Too many kids in tow. Taking the station wagon. But I can’t wait to see everyone’s jets, and take tons of pics.
