					| Peace and happiness to all for the coming year! There was a thread a couple of weeks ago (now deleted) from a Customer whose wonderful wife purchased the wrong map for him. Clearly he was disappointed. Just so everyone is aware, there are 2 emailed product confirmations sent - one at ORDER CONFIRMATION and later - PRODUCTION NOTICE and I will absolutely make changes for a Customer so long as map creation has not begun. This Customer returned the map to me in perfect condition and generously asked that I resell or donate it. Well, I can't resell this and decided it needs to be donated to an organization which will most benefit. https://metarmaps.com/shop/southeast Suggestions?_________________

How much do you want for it? Which frame does it have? I have had a WTB ad posted for months looking for one as a decoration / conversation piece for my office. Thanks, Frank_________________

Well, I can't resell this and decided it needs to be donated to an organization which will most benefit.

 Suggestions?

I am in charge of, and dedicate all my spare time and money to a small not-for-profit organization (actually it operates at a substantial loss each year) which is dedicated to the preservation and operation of my 1975 F33A Bonanza. It is based in a small hangar in Addison, TX and despite not being a part of the South East metermap, our "organization" would love to be considered for donation and would proudly display it in the hangar.

 Thank you for your consideration,

					| Richard, I have no idea of an organization that could benefit from it but I would imagine a privately owned FBO (not Signature or Atlantic) somewhere in the vicinity of the map would be interested in placing it somewhere for fellow pilots to see and it would be good advertising for you as well. Or possibly the Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola. I’ve seen your work and am VERY impressed.

 Richard,
Well, I guess policy is policy, and you can’t challenge that. Maybe you could make a positive thing out of the purchasers mishaps in ordering the wrong map and do an auction on it then donate those proceeds to charity. (That is if there is no policy on charity auctions that prohibit them). I would be willing to start the bidding at $350.00 and my donation would be to the the local humane society, or a charity of the purchasers choice, made in their name with the tax deductible receipt sent to you so you could pass it along to them and I would challenge someone to raise my bid by $100 to $450.

 Thanks, Frank

Out of curiosity, why? Seems like you'd have some immediate takers in this thread.

					| My guess and I’d be concerned too if it were my business, but he’s using a a small computer that has removable data cards from what I can tell, and it also connects to your wireless network. That could be a big issue if someone were to say put a virus on it that could backdoor someone’s network if resold.

The venn diagram of hackers and people who buy and pay return shipping on metar maps I think would not have anyone in the middle. Less effort to actually make a map and start selling them with this virus - wait a minute, how well do we know this "Richard," if that is his real name??!?

Make sure the METAR Map computer goes on a public WiFi network and you won't have to worry about this. Most modern WiFi access point / routers have a guest network feature. Once enabled, the guest network is separate from your business network. --paul
