Brokers/agents, etc., are a (mostly) necessary evil. Often you have no choice except to deal with them, be it planes, houses, intellectual property, or whatever. Always remember, however, that they get paid selling things they don't own and buying things with money they didn't earn.
[Edited out the demotic, perhaps upon refelection not for the tender-hearted amongst us.]

How can it be said that they didn't earn the money? The only way they get paid is if they sell what the seller has hired them to sell. Selling the item they've been asked to sell earns them the fee that the seller and broker mutually agreed on. If you never hire one then you don't need to worry about it. People who have accumulated enough money to buy an airplane must be good at whatever they do for a living. That doesn't mean they are good at everything. Hiring someone who is good at what they do, like selling airplanes or houses or whatever, makes a lot of sense for people who place a high value on their time.

But the current bubble and attendant higher prices seem to be poisoning a friendly Beech market. One (nameless) literally yelled at me yesterday for asking for logs and basic info without first proving I was "serious". A broker? When I listed on FB I can’t explain how many “interested” people I got. It was nauseating. I don’t blame anyone for wanting to vet a buyer in tbis market (sad but true) but no yelling
